Mom`s Cafe in Vancouver Island

Must have salmon chowder. Service was very good. Delicious food and generous portions.

Easy parking, friendly staff, good food. Enjoyable and tasty if somewhat pricy.

I was looking for a place to have an easy dinner and Mom's cafe popped up on the map. Seemed good so I went to check it out. Cute place with diner style booth seats as well as a small outdoor dining space. Every other booth was marked off to create space for social distancing. The servers were friendly and genuine and the food was delicious! I ordered the cod and chips. The fish and chips were perfectly crisp, not greasy and not too much batter on the fish. It came with a side of tartar sauce and red cabbage creamy coleslaw. I would definitely come back the next time I am in the area and try the pies since everyone seems to rave about them!

Best breakfast I've had from a restaurant in years. The portions were huge and home cooked. The staff was amazing! Made our morning! Highly recommend!!

I DO NOT recommend Moms at all. Since the new owners took over the food, service and atmosphere has taken a dive. Stay away if you have taste buds or value well cooked meals. Mom's use to be THE place to eat.... Now it's the place to avoid.

Great old style diner less than a block off main hwy. Had the Quesadilla and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. This place is known for the PIE 🥧 Huge pieces, you won't be disappointed.

Not fancy, just good old home-style food like Mom used to make. I had a turkey and cranberry sandwich, while she had fish'n chips. Add a couple of beverages and the tab was under $40.

Great breakfast pit stop on the way to Botanical beach, the eggs Benny are so yummy with homemade holllandaise sauce!

So far so good ! Mom's seem to back and I like it! Do you like Pie? Well I do and consider myself the pie man ! And they're pies are delicious! You must try the coconut cream 🤘

Not a great place for allergies. Servers are wonderful, food is slow and just ok.

Years ago Mom’s Cafe was a hot spot and always full. These days you are guaranteed to find a lot of empty tables. Picked up our fish n chips ordered tonight. It was okay although the coleslaw was pretty darn tired looking. Inside the restaurant, pits all over the floor, lot’s of flies, front door doesn’t open and the place looks incredibly sad. Roof which is still the original, falling apart and leaking. Would be nice if these new owners would actually put money into the place and hire some decent staff and hire some good cooks. I can see the place closing soon if no one comes to its rescue

Food quality has severely gone down through the years. I feel such a big loss for me and my family. We always look forward to family gatherings at Mom's Cafe at least 3 times a year. Not anymore.

Not exactly a Michelin Star restaurant, but I've never left hungry. Arguably the best apple pie ever created. Servers and staff are really friendly.

Very cozy little diner, went for breakfast and the food was delicious and our server was very good at her job.Hopefully next time we stop in the jukebox is working, definitely has the feel like some 1950s music would have completed that place but still overall a great little diner :)

#1 place to eat in Sooke after a hike through the Sooke Potholes. Well worth the drive from Victoria. Heading up to Renfrew beaches after lunch to see the Botanical Beach Tide Pools! Best day of our vacation.

I was so impressed with this place! I loved the retro atmosphere and the food was so tasty. They are updating the menu and haven't added the veggie burger yet but it was amazing! The homemade falafel patty was so crispy and full of flavour I would definitely do it again. The waitress was kind and welcoming. I will definitely make this my go to spot when I visit Sooke, much better than the local pubs by far.

Had the fish and chips. Went with cod not halibut, next time I will go with the more expensive halibut because the batter on the cod was awesome! Light and crispy not greasy. Yum! Chips were good too but that is seriously good fish and Wednesday is 10% off on fish and chips

Great little diner in the town of Sooke BC. Excellent food and the deserts look amazing. Prices are a bit high for a small diner but very popular place so can see why.

A couple of years ago I ordered some sort of gonzo poutine breakfast thing and it was INSANE! Popped in a couple weeks back all growly and ready to feast and as much as the servers were great, the bowl of oil I received could hardly be classified as food. And it tasted even worse. I've never eaten food so bad and I have small "creative" children. Check out the oil on that plate?! It wasn't even delicious oil like from a pizza. It's as if the kid in the back was about to send it out, thought for a moment, then was like hmm.. this needs mostly oil! *dumps a quart of oil on plate* VOILA!As you can see I even tried to eat it because I was so hungry and it took forever to show up, but even I - a human garb-orator, could not complete this mission. So sad. Used to be a pretty great place.
